The Festival Committee is working to make the Festival more accessible. New this year will be:
- ASL interpretation for the Opening Ceremonies, the Parade, and the Saturday Info Day. For Info Day, find the interpreter in front of the New Deal Cafe from 2-4pm. For the parade, find the interpreter next to the reviewing stand.
- A Sensory Room (quiet room) – A cool and quiet spot for people who need it will be available in the Community Center, room 103. Drop by for a quick respite from the festivities.
- Extra seating: Benches will be provided near the rides for parents and grandparents to wait and watch their children having fun on the rides.
- Curbs and Cuts: Greenbelt Police will take steps to insure that people attending the fair in wheelchairs or using strollers will have unfettered access to curb cuts.
- Dropping Off: Drop off spots for the festival will be provided and clearly marked.
- Wheelchair transportation: if you need a ride to the festival on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, please call Greenbelt Connection at 301-474-4100 by 3pm on Friday. Let them know you need a chair lift, when you would like to go, and when you want to be transported back home. The Greenbelt Labor Day Committee will pick up the tab, so that you can ride FREE. Note that this is for wheelchair users only. Other transportation will be provided from shuttle locations.
- As always, there will be a free shuttle bus from satellite parking lots at Greenbelt Elementary and Eleanor Roosevelt High School, so that you don’t have to try to find a parking place at the festival.
