The Cipriano Award for art portraying people at work went to David Campbell for his entry, Roofers. The Cipriano Award is the Art Show’s special connection to Labor Day. It also memorializes one of Greenbelt’s best and distinguished friends and honorary Greenbelter “Pop” Cipriano, who at one time worked as a carpenter for the City of Greenbelt. Cipriano was known in his day for his colorful, flower-covered farm wagon, pulled along in the Labor Day Parade by his donkey.
