Art Show

Highlights of the 2025 Art Show:

The People’s Choice Awards are as follows:
1st Place – The Culvert under a January Sunset by David Campbell
2nd Place – A Good Friend by Keira Parsons (also Blue Ribbon in Painting, Youth 15-18)
3rd Place – Coral Reef by Ruby Dessiatoun (also Blue Ribbon in Sculpture/3D)
4th Place – Me in My Favorite Lion King Shirt – by Therese Beall

The Cipriano Award for art portraying people at work went to David Campbell for his entry, Roofers. The Cipriano Award is the Art Show’s special connection to Labor Day. It also memorializes one of Greenbelt’s best and distinguished friends and honorary Greenbelter “Pop” Cipriano, who at one time worked as a carpenter for the City of Greenbelt. Cipriano was known in his day for his colorful, flower-covered farm wagon, pulled along in the Labor Day Parade by his donkey.

Pre-registration for Art Show entries for 2026 will open in mid-June.

The Art Show will take place in the Community Center September 5,6 & 7

The traditional Cipriano prize will again be awarded to the best entry portraying “People at Work in America”. See below for categories and rules.

Again this year: Enjoy live acoustic music in the gym during the Shows! Small ensembles from Greenbelt Community Orchestra will perform.
