10-B Crescent Rd. Join the Greenbelt Museum for a history-filled walking tour. Tours will leave at 11am and 1pm from the museum’s historic house at 10-B Crescent Road. The Greenbelt Museum’s historic home has been restored and furnished with objects from the period 1937–1952. See how Greenbelt’s families lived in the 1930s and 1940s. Walking tours are free, but space is limited.

NEWGRASS EFFECT

Stage. Newgrass Effect is a progressive, contemporary bluegrass band, featuring seasoned DC-area musicians whose repertoire includes traditional bluegrass sounds and also crosses over into other forms of music.

Youth Center Gymnasium. Grab your skates and save the date! Join family and friends to participate in a storied Greenbelt tradition. Roller skates are provided FREE of charge… or bring your own. Skate tunes provided by DJ Keither Gooding.

Stage. Born of a mutual passion for the deep, down-home sounds of an earlier time, eight-piece band King Soul brings the excitement of real Southern soul to new audiences.

MEMORIAL GATHERING

Grassy area behind Mother and Child statue. Come to honor those friends and relatives who have passed before us. There will be a motorcycle ride at 4pm, followed by a memorial gathering at 6pm. Please feel free to bring flowers to lay on the hill during the memorial service.

Roosevelt Center. The Greenbelt Museum is organizing a Retro Town Fair much like those the earliest Greenbelters enjoyed starting back in 1939. The DC Road Runners Club is conducting its annual Larry Noël Greenbelt 15K Race and 3K Fun Run. As in past years, the race will start on Northway at 5pm, and the Fun Run will start near the Youth Center at 5:10pm. 59th ANNUAL GREENBELT LABOR DAY PARADE

The 59th Annual Labor Day Parade will entertain you with a variety of groups, demonstrate our community spirit and accentuate our diverse cultural backgrounds. There will be bands, fire trucks, color guard, community organizations, Circus Artist Greg May with his Center Ring Circus School and Greenbelt Youth Circus, the Miss Greenbelt participants, and more. The Grand Marshall is Greenbelt’s Outstanding Citizen. Parade Route: Down Crescent Road from Greenhill to Centerway. Parade is marshaled by the Prince George’s County Emergency Radio Association (PGCERA) with assistance from Prince George’s County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (PG-ARES) and the Eleanor Roosevelt High School National Honor Society.

THE NIGHTHAWKS
2-6pm

Stage. The Nighthawks, America’s self-styled “favorite bar band,” have been pumping out their gritty brand of blues and roots rock for more than 30 years. The quartet eschewed the laid-back country rock style of many of their contemporaries, forging a terrific live reputation as one of the few blues bands of their era to tour nationally.
