Thanks for celebrating the end of summer with us at the 2011 Greenbelt Labor Day Festival! We hope you enjoyed the weekend and can’t wait to see you next year.

The Greenbelt Labor Day Festival would not be possible without the hard work and contributions from volunteers and support from the City of Greenbelt.

We would also like to thank everyone who sponsored carnival booths, hosted Information Day tables, staffed craft fair tables, and participated in the Parade.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who attended the Festival and participated in the various activities and competitions.

Please consider joining the Greenbelt Labor Day Festival Committee to help plan for next year.

Youth Scavenger Hunt (Teams of Two)

Youth Center. Ages 15 and under. Prizes to the winners.

Art Show and Photo Show
1 to 4pm
Community Center. See displays of art and photographs by local artists of all ages. Awards will be presented on stage from 1pm to 2pm and the show will be closed. Exhibitors will pick up art work at 4pm.

Stage. Presentation of awards for the Art Show, Photo Show, Best Decorated Booth, Best Entry in Each Parade Category, and Best in Parade.

Luncheon on the Lawn
Noon to 2pm
Greenbelt Community Church, Corner of Hillside and Crescent Rd. After parade. Barbeque sandwich or hot dog, baked beans, slaw, chips, drink and dessert for one reasonable price.

Greenbelt Museum House
Noon to 3pm
10-B Crescent Rd. The Greenbelt Museum’s historic home has been restored and furnished with objects from the period 1937-1952. See how Greenbelt’s families lived in the 1930s and 1940s. Even if you have visited the museum before, we invite you to come by and have another look. FREE.

Carnival Midway

Midway. Rides by Rosedale Amusements. Games, food, sale and information booths organized by Greenbelt organizations. Booths constructed and wired by Greenbelt Public Works Department. Ride tickets sold by volunteers from the Eleanor Roosevelt High School National Honor Society. No charge for entertainment, shows, or events unless noted.

Greenbelt Labor Day Parade

57th Annual Greenbelt Labor Day Parade
10 to Noon
The 57th Annual Labor Day Parade will entertain you with a variety of groups, demonstrate our community spirit and accentuate our diverse cultural backgrounds. There will be bands, fire trucks, color guard, community organizations, Circus Artist Gregory May, the Miss Greenbelt participants, and more. The Grand Marshall is Greenbelt’s Outstanding Citizen. Parade Route: Down Crescent Road from Greenhill to Centerway. Parade is marshaled by the Central Maryland Amateur Radio Club (CMARC) with assistance from Prince George’s Amateur Radio Emergency Services (PG/ARES) and the Eleanor Roosevelt High School National Honor Society.
