The Greenbelt Labor Day Festival was started in 1955 as a way of raising funds to build a Youth Center. It has been held every year since by the Greenbelt Labor Day Festival Committee, one of the largest all-volunteer organizations in Maryland. 2012 will mark the 58th year of the Festival, which will take place from Friday, August 31, through Monday, September 3, at the Roosevelt Center at 101 Centerway in Greenbelt, MD.

The weekend-long celebration will include

2012 Carnival Midway Hours
Friday, August 31, from 6:00 to 10:00pm
Saturday, September 1, from 11:00am to 9:30pm
Sunday, September 2, from noon to 9:30pm
Monday, September 3, from 11:00am to 6:00pm

Free admission to the Festival Grounds.

No charge unless otherwise noted for entertainment on stage; art and photo shows; exhibits; Greenbelt Recreation Department sponsored art activities, sports, and recreation; and Labor Day Parade.

Fees vary for rides, food, refreshments, activities at carnival booths, and other miscellaneous events.
